FRP Modular Toilet Units In order to cater to 500 nos. shelters as described above, it has been planned to construct 128 nos. community toilet units (separately for gents & ladies) made of FRP. A typical toilet unit would measure 1200 mm x 1200 mm x 1945 mm – the FRP panels would be used for roof & sidewalls and also a sandwich type FRP door would be provided. The FRP panels would be mounted on MS angles. The toilet units are being constructed complete with cement flooring, Indian style toilet pan, wash basin and taps for water supply inside. Septic tanks of appropriate size are also being constructed for each location. Water supply would be made available from a HDPE tank placed on a steel structure. The product has been a spin-off from the project on modular FRP toilet units for railway coaches launched by the Advanced Composites Mission in partnership with Hindustan Fibreglass Works, Vadodara & technology support from IIT-Mumbai.
