I, like many others was born during the 1939/42 war. I have watched nothing but human conflicts throughout my life to date culminating in the current human disasters being enacted out in the Middle East. I now have not the slightest doubt that over my remaining years to come I will see repeat after repeat of the same.
If the base elements of the universe and galaxies govern the infrastructure of planet earth and in turn all life forms on it, then any belief in a God or Gods appears irrelevant to me. I can certainly accept that for untold millions, a belief in a God an ultimate supreme force, can bring great comfort and help them live their lives. However, there is still a major proportion of humanity that view God and the man made religions that have been built about him more as a quasi commercial market environment in which they can commit the most horrendous of crimes under unsubstantiated claims, they are authorised to do, as representatives of God.
Based upon the number of adherents to a faith there are two major religions on earth - the Christian faith and that of Islam. Men who lived in different time periods in history initiated these religions. Jesus the Christian faith followed by The Prophet Mohammed, founder of Islam, Each man imparted his beliefs, concepts and thoughts as guidelines to unite people under a mantle for decent living. Each man's thoughts and teaching was influenced by the lifestyle conditions existent in his lifetime.
I believe, that never in their wildest dreams, could these men have foreseen the manner in which their beliefs and teachings would be high jacked throughout history by many criminal minded individuals and used to influence, gain control over and incite the masses into wars, bloodshed and human catastrophe and, more often than not for downright commercial profit.
There appears little difference between the Christian leaders who perpetrated the bloody crusades and the likes of Adolph Hitler and others over the years, through to certain religious leaders positioned in the Middle East today. In all of the above, aside from the political or power gains, a real gain in wealth was and is a major incentive. Obviously, being the ingenious humans that we are we have created new technologies for efficient mass killing in tandem with efficient communications for the purpose of generating quick wealth on the exposure of such murderous activities.
Insider trading is forbidden on most of the world's stock/financial exchanges. I wonder at the immense financial gains earned by any persons who had pre-knowledge of the Sept 11 terrorist act on the world trade centre in USA. I wonder on the financial gains made by those with pre-knowledge of the Hezbollah rocket attack on Israel? I wonder at the increased income value of oil revenues to Iran at this time?
What price the legs and arms of a 10 year old boy be they a Palestinian, Israelii, Lebanese, or any other nationality? Probably a million bucks a boy or girl, but hey! To the criminal mind that has no regard for life at all, it's a bloody good deal - As long as it's not his kid of course. That type of criminal mind has always existed and, probably will continue to do so in all societies throughout the world.
I believe that there is a genetic malfunction that is carried forward in a minor proportion of the world's human population and, until the human scientific bodies can isolate and correct that malfunction in those yet to come, humanity will forever be plagued by these bloodthirsty but intelligent criminal minded human rejects.
