Globalization on one hand has widened the scope of business and marketing while on other hand it has transformed the whole world into a virtual village. Contemporary every country has an opportunity to make her self-developed by exploiting others lacunae irrespective of the degree of resources and intelligence she is having, if utilization is at optimum level and one has awareness of ones own self. Awareness is the key to success. Even in a new field any one can venture easily and achieve the heights of success, if one is aware of related aspects of that field.
Today India has completed her 59 years of Independence; still she is a developing Nation despite having abundant resources and intelligentsia. The reason behind this is lack of awareness. We, the people of India suffer from shortsightedness and short memory span. We accept each and every thing in the form as it appears in front of us. Only due to the long and complex procedure we dont claim our rights, and unknowingly we ourselves become an obstacle between our rights and their fulfillment. Here, when the world is growing with marketing oriented concept, each and every aspect must be given appropriate consideration.
Marketing oriented concept states that each and every product, idea and service can be sold only by appealing the consumer with an effective communication, if you have a brand position in the market. In simple words, this concept is to make fool out of others by using their lacunae for communication, if they are not aware of themselves. Exempli gratia- in advertisement of whirlpool it is shown that since electricity is a problem in India, the particular model of refrigerator is better suited for such condition and the statement used is make sense for India. It is the known fact that India is facing electricity problem, but no one has right to use the nations name in a way that portrays a negative image in the mind of the people, but we have accepted this without any awareness about the way our nations name is being used.
Nation is a sovereign entity, which is of great importance in development of its citizen. Every citizen must respect and think of the reputation of the nation. It is a historic fact that for the nation or sovereignty only, the two world wars have been fought. If we look into the history of emergence of sovereignty, we find that for existence of sovereignty and for its name many wars have been fought. Now, the situation has changed, with development of science many disastrous weapons have been made, and not a single nation wants to indulge in any type of such war. So, the concept of survival of fittest, in economic context, was applied and to actualize it marketing concept was adopted.
These all are only small examples of our unawareness, if this will continue and not stopped then our mission 2020 will fail and we can not achieve it even by year 3000. The consequences of this will be that we will be reined again by other nations and this time independence will be more difficult than earlier. Now the time is to be aware of each and every aspect of our life, nation and other related aspects.
