How to Build a Website that Gets Attention

When building your online business there is no excuse for not having a professional looking website as a promotional tool. The internet provides a massive range of free software and tools to allow you to create a professional looking site.

Many free web-building sites offer a myriad of very high-end professional templates, assuring you of the best possible image. Many of these websites will take you through a step-by-step easy process in the creation of your site. You may choose a template conducive to your theme.

The main ingredient you will need is your own individual effort. You will need to expend the same amount of energy in designing a free site as you would if you were to pay for the website design software and accompanying automated tools.

When using free resources the only monetary requirements will come in the forms of purchasing a domain name for your website and attaining a credible hosting company.

Many webmasters prefer paying for hosting services as opposed to relying on free hosting. This aspect may be particularly useful to you in establishing an enduring business presence over the net. Reliable hosting means your site will be available without fail 24/7. This allows you to provide a comfortable level of trust between you and your prospects and loyal clientele.

However, that said, many individuals new to the business of the "net" have not the slightest clue where to begin in order to establish an attention-getting website.

1. Perform keyword research. Find out how your customers are searching for your site using free keyword tools such as the Google free keyword tool.

2. Write site content incorporating significant keywords. Keywords should be included within your article titles, title tags, etc. If you are unfamiliar with HTTP coding, at the very least incorporate relevant keywords into your site content.

3. Find a free site-building website providing a variety of professional templates and user-friendly instructions.

4. Add interesting and informative content with respect to your products/services interspersing relative keywords at a one to two percent density level. This means if you write your content in a natural style the simple task of keyword insertion should not prove difficult. One method I employ is to place the relative keyword once in my article title; once in the first paragraph; once inside two to three sub-headings and once in the last paragraph. You will easily achieve a percentage level of one-percent density per five hundred words. Also, as a side note on the Internet it has been deemed "Content is King" therefore the more relative useful information you can provide on your site, the better.

5. Many webmasters decide on captions and content before selection of the proper template. Review templates on the free site-building website and review number of tabs with regard to your selected template. Decide before you begin implementing your site design: headings for each of your tabs; and order of each of your headings. Also it is highly advisable you offer a way in which visitors may reach you.

6. Think of your site's home page as your visitor's first impression. Content should be company and product and/or service-oriented specific. Generally there are four pages on a small free site therefore plan accordingly.

7. Write information, especially about the backbone of your company. By this I mean include information that provides detail as to what your company is about and briefly what you can offer your client. Include your mission statement and your objectives in what you provide your client. In other words, break the ice with your visitor by demonstrating you have a strong innovative spirit and are forward-thinking in your approach to business. Additionally, lend some sense of the quality of your products and/or services your site and company promotes.

8. When you chose your freebie template for your company website, you should have chosen one that is strongly in-line with what you are promoting or representing. At the very least, if you were unable to find the proper pictorials, you need to choose a site design with a nice clean professional appearance.

9. Purchase a domain name that properly "brands" your product/service or secondly describes your product/services. "Branding," does not necessarily describe what you sell: it is a method of marketing used to create a household name. In example, do you believe the brands Google or Yahoo give any indication as to what they are or the fact both are search engine companies? Yet almost every household in the world would recognize either company as a search engine company. Therefore with a smaller site, such as yours and with limited resources available to you, your best course of action is probably to include the type of service or product you offer within the name of the site.

In summary, good planning as far as keyword research, strong composition of web content, and choosing a template with a clean design will provide you with the professional web presence that will gain your company immediate on-line recognition.
