Logitech on Thursday introduced their AudioStation (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/CA/EN,CRID=2414,CONTENTID=12154) and AudioStation Express (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/CA/EN,CRID=2414,CONTENTID=12155), two new speaker systems for Apple's iPod coming to stores this October. the AudioStation is a US$299.99 premium stereo system for the iPod, while the AudioStation Express is a portable system priced at $129.99.
The AudioStation features two-way speakers with 1-inch soft-dome tweeters and 4-inch long-throw woofers. Made in black and equipped with a wireless remote control, the AudioStation also features an integrated AM/FM radio tuner. A universal dock connects third, fourth and fifth-generation iPods, iPod minis and iPod nanos; it charges the battery. The controls are backlit and a digital clock is also built in.
The AudioStation has a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack if you want to connect another device like a portable CD player. Video iPod users can also output video signals to a television or home theater system using the integrated composite and S-Video jacks. The AudioStation Express is designed to be a more lightweight, portable speaker system for the iPod. Available in either black or white, it also features a universal dock and is compatible with the same range of products. It comes with a wireless remote control and protective case that lets you take it traveling with you. The AudioStation Express can run off six AA batteries for about 10 hours, or from an AC adapter. It also features a 3.5 mm auxiliary audio input and video output jack, and comes with a remote control. It features 2.5-inch "Max-X" drivers and a tuned port to help boost bass response.
