The Bible and Ungodly Black Preachers

Greetings, Writers Note: There is much confusion within the ranks of the Black Preachers. These same so-called Preachers question the lack of men in the Church and the attack on Christianity. FOR THE RECORD THE GREATEST THREAT TO CHRISTIANITY IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY IS THE UNGODLY BLACK PREACHER. Peace, Carl A. Patton, FreedomJournal 2000. Part 13: The Bible and Ungodly Black Preachers (Updated 11 August 2006. Editors note: all information in this series is taken from a Doctoral Dissertation that was rejected by the Political Science Department at Atlanta University now know as Clark AU in Atlanta, GA)

In the name of God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth.

As Almighty God is our Guide, we bear witness to the Power of God. We come also realizing that God sanctions Truth and the ways of the righteous. Thus, we are thankful that we know God and find comfort and strength in His Word.

Meanwhile, in Chattanooga we see a continuation of the slave time practice of the control of Black Preachers. Bookie Turner was the most corrupt Fire and Police Commissioner in the history of Chattanooga. Turner is noted as a contemporary paymaster for ungodly Black Preachers. The Black Church continues to be a dominant force within the Black community. However, despite the need for organizing and leadership within the Black community the Black Preacher has sold his soul. Thus, we see a systematic pay-off system established in Chattanooga and throughout America for the ungodly Black Preacher.

The following quotations are taken from the most Censored book in American History. "Big Ralph: Reflections of a Black Police Chief," Chapter 10, pages 207-208. Commissioner Turner was under investigation by the federal authorities for corruption: "By 1969 the city commission became suspicious of monthly payments to two local Black ministers. The two ministers in question were Robert Richards, and J. Lloyd Edwards. Meanwhile, Richards and Lloyd denied that they were informers. They claimed that they were paid for special services and to help keep the peace between the Black and White communities." (Also see: Chattanooga Times, "Black Ministers $250 per month is paid each of Two Informers For Police Dept.," February 15, 1969. Also see Chattanooga Times, "City To Retain Ministers at $150 per month each, Auto allowance of $100," February 20, 1969. Chattanooga Times, "Richards, Edwards Reject City Investigative Jobs," February 21, 1969, claim they are not informers).

The system of pay-offs to Black Preachers was at its highest level during the Civil Rights era. Here we see the ungodly coalition of Black Preachers with vice, crime and corruption. Commissioner Turner thrived on snitchers and informers like so-called Preachers' Robert Richards, J. Lloyd Edwards, Harold K. Lester and Paul McDaniel. The list also included most if not all of the prominent Black ministers in Chattanooga. We see further evidence of this corruption in the following quotation:

"Commissioner Turner also relied on Black police officers to work for his slate of candidates during elections. Illegal whiskey and gambling houses had historically been used in Chattanooga as Instruction Houses. Instruction in whom to vote for was their main function during elections. These dens of sin sponsored vice, passed out free whiskey and often barbecue pork ribs as an incentive to vote for the people supported by Commissioner Turner. (See Chattanooga Times, "Black Police and Politics," September 19, 1969. White Policemen say most Negro officers off Election Day. The practice has existed for years).

Nevertheless despite the on-going reports of vice and corruption reported by the local and national media the Black Preachers supported Bookie Turner. Harold K. Lester and many other so-called Church leaders in Chattanooga still feel loyalty to Bookie Turner who has long passed on. How can a Preacher have more respect for a criminal than for example an honest and law- abiding police officer? The late Chief Cothran was not only an honest police officer but he was also a life long member of the Church where Harold K. Lester acts as pastor. Have the Black Preachers of Chattanooga all sold out to the Devil? Are there any Godly Black Preachers in Chattanooga? Have all the prominent Black Preachers and not so prominent so-called Preachers like Amos Baker been paid off by the advocates of economic racism? Is the ministry a ruse and guise for Black people to bargain with White people for work in the Judas Army?

Meanwhile, the Word of God speaks boldly on this subject. We pray for the Black Preachers in Chattanooga and throughout the land who have forsaken God for man and material possessions. We believe in the Bible. Therefore what does the Lord have in His plans for those that continue to dispute His Word? One of the most powerful testimonies in the Word of God on this subject comes from Jeremiah. In Jeremiah 23: 1-2 we see the following: "Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasteur! Saith the Lord. Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord."

As we stay in the book of Jeremiah, we see in: Jeremiah 14: 14 "Prophets lie, if you follow them you are just as guilty."

In Jeremiah 27: 9-11. Here we see prophets telling the people what they want to hear. In Jeremiah 10:21 we see God warning the pastors: "For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the Lord: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered."

Our final scripture is taken from Jeremiah 5:31: "The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests, bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?"

What do these scriptures mean? How can a Preacher profess to love God and the Word of God and defy these scriptures? How has Satan been able to claim dominion over so many Black Preachers?
